I’ve been using BoardBooster for awhile now and I love it. Several people ask me to help with the set up process, so I thought I would do a quick tutorial on it. I’ll start with looping. Looping is where you take a pin and repin in back to the same board. It’s great to get those older pins back out there and receive more exposure.
How to set up looping on BoardBooster
All bloggers should have a dedicated board just for their blog. It makes it easy to repin your own posts and it’s the best place to start looping your pins.
First, you’ll need to head over to BoardBooster and sign up for an account first if you haven’t already done that.
To start looping find the Pinning Tools menu on the top right menu and click that.
Here’s what my next screen looks like. I already have 2 boards looping and I’m going to add a third.
To start a loop, you’ll need to click the Add Boards button. The first step is to choose the board you’ll loop, then the continue button. If you don’t see the board you’re looking for, then you need to press the Refresh Boards button. BoardBooster will connect to Pinterest and update it with all your boards. If you’ve never done this, it will take a few minutes to pull over all the information.
Once you click continue, you’ll come to this screen.
Decide on your settings
This first picture shows pinning one pin a day and the time is at 3:00pm. Adding time to the random delay will make your repin within the range you set. If you want it exactly at the same time every day, you’ll just leave the random delay at 0.
The next item you come to is the Pin selection method. I choose the one shown- oldest to newest. This way my older pins get repinned first.
The next item is Automatic deduplication. This is where a lot of people get really confused. It’s where you decide if you want to delete the older pin. This image shows that’s enabled so you can make even more detailed decisions. If you were to mark disabled, all the other fields disappear and you’re done. You click submit.
Run deduplication is the amount of time BoardBoosters will wait to go find the older pin. The default listed is 5 days, but you can change that.
The next 2 items protect your older pins if they have comments or likes. When Protection for viral duplicates is enabled you can choose to keep pins with over a certain amount of repins. It’s great because you can choose the amounts. Bigger bloggers may choose 50, while smaller bloggers may choose 5. It’s the same with Protection for pins with comments. BoardBooster won’t delete the pin with the amount of comments you choose. Remember, it will still repin the pin, it just won’t delete the older pin if the automatic deduplication is enabled.
This image shows that you want to loop more than 1 pin a day. When you choose the multiple pins per day it allows you to choose the amount of pins you want and the time frame you want. You can have it spread out all day or all within 2 hours and rest of the options are the same.
Let me know if you have any questions because I love this feature. It saves me so much time and I know that my pins are always going to be repinned even if I’m busy.
You’re reading this because you know that blogging and making money is all about the page views. I met Lena at a blogging retreat and bought her book when I got home. It was FANTASTIC and it gave me a lot to think about and new ideas that I’ve started to implement. I suggest reading it if you’re wanting to take your blog to the next level.
I read Blogging on the Side by Becky Mansfield and Paula Rollo and it contained loads of information. It got me motivated and gave me the encouragement I needed when I felt discouraged! You can download it today and start making your blog great!
