My family is taking several out-of-town trips this summer. I always like to pick up snacks for the car ride to help keep the kids entertained. We always have Twizzlers in our snack bags. All 3 of my kids love them and I love them because they never melt in my bag when I leave them in the hot car (We also have them in our pool and baseball bags).
Usually, the bag stays in the car, so we can have a snack whenever we need it. This is the first thing I do when I get to the beach after we unload the car. The kids love this fun, summer treat.
Summer Popsicles
My kids love frozen treats at the beach and they can get pretty expensive. I love this because we never have to go out and buy anything special.
Take a look at this short video to see how easy it is.
Kitchen Tools Needed
Luckily, you don’t need much of anything to make this recipe, just a popsicle form. Here are a few popsicle molds if you need one.
Silicone Mold– I love silicone molds and this one is a great one to have.
Twisted Mold– This mold is really fun and different. It’s also silicone!
Round Mold– This is one similar to the mold in the photos.
Ingredients for these Fun Homemade Popsicles
- Twizzlers- I used the Strawberry flavor, but you can use any flavor you’d like.
- Lemonade- I used lemonade that I bought near the orange juice in the grocery store.
How to make summer popsicle recipes
Step 1
Bend Twizzlers and place them in the popsicle mold. Curve the Twizzlers so they make a handle to hold onto. I love that there is no trash to throw away and the kids can take it straight to the beach or outside to play.
Step 2
Pour the lemonade into the mold.
Step 3
Place in the freezer until frozen.
Tip #1
If you are having trouble getting the popsicles out of the mold, you’ll need to run some warm water over plastic or silicone for a few seconds until the popsicles become loose.
Pick up some on your next summer road trip and make these delicious popsicles, if you have any extras. Maybe you should just get 2 packs!
What are you going to make with your Twizzlers?

What a fun trick! My 3 year old would love this. Haha he would probably eat the Twizzler first and then try to eat the popsicle, but it still looks like fun to try.
