You can’t say moms aren’t busy. Every mom I know is running around grocery shopping, helping out the kids, taking them to practices, and doing laundry. By the time I get dinner on the table, cleaned up, finish up homework, get the kids showered and in their PJs and then off to bed, I’m exhausted. Most the time I get my PJs on too and want to go to bed. I’ll lay there and read and then fall asleep. This repeats every, single day! However busy moms do need to take care of themselves too. Most people focus on the skin on their faces and neglect all their other skin. Here are a few EASY tips to keep your all your skin looking nice and smooth.
1. Drink water– This is so simple, but so easy to forget when you are busy. Take time to fill up your water glass and drink it down. It really does help. The lines in your face don’t look as deep when you are hydrated. After a few weeks of drinking more water, people will start to notice. BONUS: It also helps with keeping your mind sharp!
2. Sunscreen- This should be apart of every morning routine. You can purchase a lot of makeup products where sunscreen is included now. Don’t forget your neck! If you are wearing a sleeveless shirt, go ahead and lotion up your arms and shoulders now to keep them safe. Don’t forget your hands either. Your hands get the most sun and they can make you look old prematurely.
3. Exfoilate– This is so easy to do in the shower and makes your skin feel so nice. I make my own and keep in nearby. I try and do it once a week. I have a couple of different kinds I use, but I’ve been using this one lately. It’s a honey lemon sugar scrub that only take a few minutes to make. You probably have the ingredients in your kitchen right now.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 2 tablespoon lemon
I put all this in a bowl and stir until well mixed. I store it in an extra glass jar I have. When you are in the shower just rub it over your body to freshen up your skin. Rinse well to get all the mixture off your body.
4. Hydrate your skin with Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer– Now that you’ve exfoliated, you’ll want to lotion up. I had exzema when I was little. I remember my doctor telling my mom that she should put lotion on me while my skin was still wet because it locks in that hydration. Well, now Jergens has come out with a great new lotion that is specifically to be used on wet skin. You can get it at Target.
It absorbs instantly which is great because you don’t have to spend your time rubbing and rubbing. When I add other lotions to wet skin it takes forever for it to rub in. I bought 2 different ones because I couldn’t decide on which one I would like better. I’ve been using the Calming Green Tea Oil variety for the past 4 or 5 days.
Once it’s rubbed in, it absorbs instantly, I just pat my skin dry. You don’t rinse or wipe it off. I almost forgot! You can save 5% if you have the Target Cartwheel app!
