My kids are so excited about the Inside Out movie coming out on DVD.  We didn’t go see it in the theaters and I told them we’d see it when the DVD came out and my daughter has got a great memory!!  She saw the display at Walmart and ran straight towards it.

Sometimes kids have a hard time talking about how they are feeling. Sometimes they can’t even put it into words.  I came up with a fun activity that can help your kids understand how they may be feeling.  It can also tell you a lot about them.  It will help you parent them if you know exactly how they are feeling.  I made a printable that you can print out.  Just click on the image below and press print on your computer.

Next, you’ll want to take your kids and take pictures of them showing all different kinds of feelings.  I had them do happy, sad, angry, and so on.  Once we got the photos made, I printed them out on my printer (4×6).  I had the kids cut them out and glue them onto the squares on the printable.

I grabbed an extra string that we had laying around and we displayed the cards of how they were feeling at that moment.  I have one child that is always grumpy! 🙂

They loved going out and taking the pictures and I love that when they get home from school they can change out the card and let me know how they are feeling.  Now I have a stack in my drawer in the kitchen so they can change them out whenever they want.

While we were at Walmart we also bought a fun Tomy Toy figure of Anger, one of the characters, to go with the movie.  I thought that would be really fun for my daughter.  By the way, we have watched Inside Out twice in 2 days, so it’s a hit in our house.

What a fun game! I love that Inside Out (and this game) really help children with discovering their emotions. I wish it had been around eons ago! #client

  2. What a great way to help your children share emotions after school everyday! I know sometimes my six year old daughter wants to talk about the day and other times she would rather just run outside to play. This makes it easy! #client
