I have to tell you, most the time I just buy the tub of frosting from the grocery store. However, sometimes I feel like making my own frosting.
Everytime I make my own frosting, I wonder why I don’t do it all the time. It tastes so good and it’s super simple to make. I normally have all the ingredients in my pantry anyway.
Easy Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
The best part about this recipe is that you can really make it the consistency that you like. If you are spreading on with a knife, you can do it a little thicker. This is what we do most of the time because my daughter likes to do it.
If you want to pipe it on you may need to add another tablespoon or two of the cream so it will come out of your icing tip. I prefer to use cream, but if I don’t have any I use regular milk.
Can I freeze buttercream frosting?
Yes! I love that you can freeze this, just add it to a freezer baggie. When you’re ready to use it, place it in the refrigerator overnight so it can get soft. This is perfect if you like making mug cakes.
