We’ve been watching a bunch of movies over the summer and this cinnamon popcorn recipe of our favorite snacks!  Our family loves having movie night and this sweetened popcorn is a great alternative than just plain popcorn.  It doesn’t really take any longer than a plain bag of microwave popcorn and so delicious.

This cinnamon honey popcorn is really good.  I love that there’s coconut oil that helps distribute the honey and cinnamon throughout.

This could been have done with butter, but I was wanting to make this a little healthier.  I also have a sweet tooth so this is perfect for those folks too. Prep time and cook time are minimal so it’s the perfect recipe.

EASY Cinnamon Honey Popcorn

I try to substitute sugar as much as possible with a natural sweetener. I started doing this after I was feeling bad in the mornings after my coffee and oatmeal. I didn’t think I was eating anything unusual, but I realized was putting sugar in my coffee and then brown sugar in my oatmeal.

I would start to shake and realize that I had a lot of sugar in my body and I needed something that was lower on the glycemic index so my sugar levels wouldn’t go up and down so dramatically.

I switched out the sugar in my coffee with maple syrup and the sugar in my oatmeal with a touch of honey. I immediately noticed a difference in the way I felt and started doing this with other foods and recipes too.

Popcorn Recipe for Movie Night

I have several great list of movies that are pretty popular. One is a list of movies you can watch with tweens.  This is such a great age and there are so many awesome movies.  I also have a list of sports movies you can watch with your kids.

I have two boys and a younger daughter and they all love sports movies.  We just watched Miracle because we went to Lake Placid for vacation this year.  My daughter fell asleep and wondered if we won or not!

Anyway…getting off topic a little.  Just wanted to let you know how much we like movies and love popcorn! 🙂

Popcorn Bowls– I received the popcorn bowls that are pictured years ago and I think they are from Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel. I have linked to some I found on Amazon.

Cinnamon Shaker– We eat cinnamon a lot at our house. It’s one of our favorite spices. We have a cinnamon shaker that we use several times a week. These are great for cinnamon sugar mixture and powdered sugar too.

Large bowl– I LOVE stainless steel bowls. They are great in the kitchen for all kinds of cooking and baking. They hold up well and don’t need to replace often.
