My two favorite things are chocolate and peanut butter. It's soft, chewy and prefect any time of the year.
  • 1⁄2 cup softened butter
  • 1⁄2 cup sugar (plus a little extra to roll the dough in)
  • 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
  • 3⁄4 cup peanut butter
  • 1⁄4 cup applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1⁄2 cups flour
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 24 Hershey’s Kisses
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, brown sugar and peanut butter. Add applesauce and vanilla and mix.
  3. In a separate bowl combine flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add the mixture to the mixing bowl and combine until mixed well.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll the balls in the extra sugar until completely covered before placing on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Place unwrapped Kiss in the middle of the cookie. Cool for 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
