This exercise to improve posture is so easy! You can do it everyday and it only takes a few seconds. You can even do it in your pajamas.
I have been wanting to write about this for years, but have never gotten around to it. I’ll give you a quick backstory.
My son was going to the chiropractor and you can read about that here. It’s a very interesting story.
The office had a Family Fun Night. It was an interesting concept. Families made their appointments and there was food and activities for the kids. They made it fun and you could hang out and socialize.
Exercise to Improve Posture
I started making appointments on those nights and the doctor said I needed to strengthen my back and it would help with some pain I was having.
I started doing the exercises and feeling better AND my posture improved, which I wasn’t expecting.
It’s simple to do. Stand against the wall with your heals, butt, and head resting against it. Put your arms straight out against the wall, so you look like a t. Now, bend your elbows at a 90° angle with your hands against the wall. Hold that pose for 30 second. Rest and repeat.
Make sure your arms stay against the wall.
Here’s my daughter showing you how to do it. She’s on fall break this week so I’m putting her to work.
This was very tough for me, just to hold that basic pose. After a couple of weeks, I was able to start moving my hands closer together for a more challenging pose.
Raise your arms up so your hands are sliding closer together and hold for 30 seconds. Again, make sure your elbows and hands stay against the wall.
My only empty wall is in my laundry room, so every time I went in to do my clothes I held the pose.
See, it’s that easy!
