Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup

I am always looking for things to do to make my family healthier, but big changes do not go over very well.  I do a lot of things that my husband or kids do not even realize I am doing.  I love casseroles!  My husband calls me the one-pot wonder.  If I can make a meal in one dish or pan, I do.  Many of those recipes call for a cream soup, cream of mushroom or cream of chicken.  I have been making my own cream of chicken soup for years and thought I would share it with you.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion
  • 1 1/4 cups milk

Cream of Chicken Soup

This can be used in any recipe that calls for a can of soup. I can not tell the difference and neither can my family!

WHAAAAAAT, it’s that easy? I have all these ingredients on hand at all times! I’m pinning this to use now instead of buying cans, which I do often. =)

  2. My husband loves this soup from a can. Maybe I can convince him it’s better to eat it from scratch like this recipe!
