I was in the car the other day and I had forgotten my phone.  I was telling my kids what it was like before I had a cell phone and a story when my car broke down and I had to walk to a pay phone to call their Dad for help.  My son told me that it sounded like I had a hard life when I was younger. 🙂  I was cracking up.  So when I got these boxes of cereal with a prize in size he was totally shocked.  He was so excited.  He kept asking me why it was in there.  I told him that when I was little there were prizes in all the cereal.  You should’ve seen the look on his face.

I was doing my regular grocery shopping at Walmart and saw these great General Mills cereals with a toy Minion inside.  OK- Cocoa Puffs and Minions, my kids are going to go crazy!  You can only find these special boxes with the a special 7th Minion at Walmart.  I bought 2 boxes, Cocoa Puffs and Honey Nut Cheerios.

They are really easy to find, right in a display in the main aisle.  There are 7 Minions to collect and here are the ones we found.  We still have some searching to do to collect them all.

Since I’m allergic to eggs, I always grew up eating pies because cake always had eggs.  I thought I would make a pie from when I was younger using the Cocoa Puffs for the crust.  I think my family will enjoy this!

Peanut Butter Pie with Chocolate Crust

  • 2 Cups Cocoa Puffs Cereal
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 8 oz whipped cream (I estimate the kind in the can.)

  • Place the Cocoa Puffs in a large baggie and crush.  You can use a rolling pin or just bang it with a measuring cup like I do. 🙂
  • Transfer the crushed Cocoa Puffs to a bowl and add in melted butter and brown sugar and stir until well mixed.

  • Add to a pie plate and with your fingers flatten it to cover the bottom and sides until even.
  • Put in freezer while making the rest of the pie.
  • Next mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, peanut butter, and vanilla until smooth.

  • Add in the whipped cream and mix.
  • Once smooth, pour into your pie plate.
  • Refrigerate for 4 hours to let the pie set.

That’s it!  Enjoy this great tasting pie and I know your kids will enjoy the Minions to play with!  Which cereal will you buy and who’s your favorite Minion?

Where do you use the brown sugar that’s in the ingredients?

Thanks- I just reread it and forgot to put that in! I corrected it. You add it in with the Cocoa Puffs and butter.
