I know everyone is busy and some days you barely have time to put dinner on the table. You may look around and there is a mess everywhere and you don’t know where to start. This is how I feel on Mondays. Today the kids went off to school and all of a sudden it’s quiet and it’s a disaster. Here are three things to clean when you don’t have time to clean. After some trial and error I’ve discovered I get the most satisfaction doing these three things. It looks like I accomplished a lot when I really didn’t.

Three things to clean when you don’t have time to clean
- Make your bed– If you make your bed in the morning, then you know you’ve already done something. You’ve accomplished one thing. It’s a great feeling to go into your room later in the day and see your bed made. It only takes a couple of minutes to complete and it makes your room look great!
- Dishes– This may include washing dishes, unloading the dishwasher, and/or loading it back up. It’s nice to see the sink empty and dirty dishes aren’t staring you in the face. If all your dishes are clean, put them in the cabinets. When you see the empty dishwasher you know you’ve accomplished another thing!
- Laundry– I like starting laundry in the morning. It’s only takes a few seconds, but it makes me feel like I’m doing something. It takes 57 minutes for a load to wash and I can do a lot in that time; shower, balance the checkbook, make a meal, run an errand, etc. I feel like I’m doing chores around the house and I may not even be home.
What’s the housework that you have to do to make your house feel clean and that you’ve accomplished something.
