St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays.  It’s just a fun holiday.  You just celebrate the day, like Cinco De Mayo.  No crazy meals that take days to plan and no need to buy anyone gifts.  It’s just about yummy food.  My husband and I make this easy homemade pub cheese spread with Guinness every year and every year we wonder why we don’t make it more!

Easy Irish Pub Cheese Spread with Guinness

My husband loves Guinness and it’s always in our outside fridge.  I even got him this cute little turtle in his stocking a few years ago to help make black and tans.  It was natural to add it to this beer cheese spread.

Guinness Beer was created over 250 years ago in Dublin, Ireland and is one of the most popular beers today.  It’s also one with the least calories so drink up all you dieters out there!  That surprises a lot of people because it’s one of the thicker beers and you would think that it would have more calories.

When most people think of Irish beers, they think of Guinness.  However, today it’s brewed in over 100 countries.  It’s popular all over the world and there are all kinds of merchandise.

This is a great appetizer for any time of year.  Most people like cheese dips and this one’s great because it’s not hot.  It doesn’t require any cooking so it’s perfect for parties during the holidays too.  Not many cheese dips are like that so it makes this one unique. It’s spreadable cheese which is perfect to add to bread and crackers.
