Ham and Cheese Potato Bake
There are two great things about this recipe.
The first thing is this casserole dish is that it’s not just for dinner. This is a great recipe for breakfast or brunch. You can assemble it the night before and pour the egg and milk mixture over it the next morning and put it in the oven. Easy peasy!
The second thing is that it’s got great healthy ingredients. There’s not any cheddar cheese soup, frozen hash browns or chicken soup.
Tools to make this Cheesy Potato Casserole Recipe
Cheese grater– I love this box grater because there are several different blades you can use so it’s perfect for all kinds of recipes.
Baking Dish– This 10″ X 10″ baking dish is exactly what you need to make this.
Cutting board mats– These are so easy to clean and use when cooking. You can bend them easily so that makes it easier to add ingredients to other bowls or pots and pans.
Potato peeler– This set has two different types of potato peelers and perfect to keep in your utensil drawer.

Ingredients for cheesy ham and potato bake
Potatoes– I like to use red or gold potatoes. That’s what I normally buy so I used that in this recipe. You’ll want to make sure and slice them thin and all about the same size for even cooking.
Sharp cheddar cheese– You’ll want to make sure you shred your cheese.
Baked ham– I liked to buy a small baked ham for sandwiches and this ham is perfect for this recipe. Leftover ham from the holidays is also perfect!
Milk– I used 1% in this recipe.
Eggs– If you are a regular reader of my website, I bet you are surprised to see this! I rarely cook with eggs because I’m allergic, but after testing this recipe it holds together better when slicing.
