We’re well into our summer here in North Carolina!  We’ve been enjoying swimming, summer camps, eating popsicles and grilling out!  We love sitting out on our patio after dinner and enjoying ice cream and talking about our day.  Mayfield ice cream is one of our go-to desserts.  I remember having it when I was a kid in Tennessee. It’s so great to have something cold on a hot night!

Homemade Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream

Over the years, Mayfield has offered signature and classic ice cream flavors inspired by southern dessert traditions. The company is now embracing its roots and returning to its original name: Mayfield Creamery, and refreshing its packaging graphics to bring their rich history to life. You can see what it looks like in the pictures below.  They’ve been around for almost 95 years so it must be the best!

My kids love making more work for me and mostly in the kitchen.  My oldest is 11 and he enjoys coming up with all kinds of recipes to try out.  He loves those kid cooking shows and secretly wants to be on one! 🙂  We thought we’d try out to make some ice cream bars and they turned out great, so easy and delicious!

Kitchen tools to make orange creamsicle ice cream bars

Popsicle mold– Here’s a great mold with good reviews. It’s made of silicone which makes it a little easier to get out.

Electric Mixer– This is the handheld mixer I received as a wedding gift over 20 years ago and it is still going! I highly recommend it. It gets a ton of use.

Stainless Steel Bowl– I love these bowls. This is a 6 piece set that comes if different sizes. They also come with lids.

Measuring Cup– If you don’t have one of these 2 cup measuring containers then you go get it right now. These are so convenient for so many recipes.

I’m allergic to eggs and this is a FANTASTIC eggless dessert. I don’t like to make desserts I can’t eat!

I have tons of eggless recipes on my blog. You should browse them and see what you can find. If you are looking for something I don’t have, please message me and I can add it to my list of things to make.

Check out the Eggless Dessert Facebook page that I have. I post my recipes and others that I find that look good!

Reminder: If you make one of my recipes, it would be GREAT if you could leave any feedback in the comment section and rate it for other readers who are looking for something new to make.
