I’ve been in the soup making mood. We had 3 snow days last week and nothing is better than hot soup. This one is so easy and I normally have all the ingredients in my house, so it’s easy to pull together when I’m not sure what to make for dinner.
Hamburger Tomato Soup
My homemade bread goes perfectly with this meal too. This hamburger tomato soup is the perfect comfort food and the best part is that it can be made on the stove top OR slow cooker!
This is a great recipe that your family will love.
Ingredients to make hamburger soup
- Ground beef- You can substitute this with ground turkey.
- Beef broth
- Potato
- Peas- Canned peas are fine, just drain them. You can also use mixed veggies.
- Onion
- Garlic
- Canned diced tomatoes
- Tomato paste
- Salt and pepper
- Paprika
How to make hamburger tomato soup
- Add ground beef, onions and garlic to pot and cook until beef is no longer pink.
- Add all other ingredients to pot and bring to a boil.
- Turn down and simmer for about 30 minutes.
Crock Pot Directions
- Brown ground beef.
- Add cooked ground beef, broth, potatoes, peas, tomatoes, salt and pepper to crock pot.
- Cook 2 1/2 to 3 hours on low.

Hamburger Tomato Soup
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 onion chopped
- 32 oz beef broth
- 15 oz can of peas drained
- 1 potato cut into 1/2″ cubes
- 28 oz can diced tomatoes
- 6 oz can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Add onion, garlic and ground beef to pot and cook until beef is no longer pink.
- Add all other ingredients to pot and bring to a boil.
- Turn down and simmer for 30-45 minutes.
