I’ve been talking with some friends about going camping for a few months, but we never put anything in stone and were kind of wishy washy. Well, we decided to go this weekend. I only have 4 days to get ready, it’s the week before spring break and I already have a ton of stuff to do before the kids are home next week. Luckily, I have this little camping packing hack that saves a ton of time.

Camping Packing Hack That Saves Tons of Time
First, I have a ton of these bins in all different sizes.
Depending on where you live and how long you like to camp, your bins will be different. You can have more, less and different sizes! I keep everything stored in these bins.
I have a couple of bins of items we always use when we camp, little items that you need.
- flashlights– We make sure each of our kids has their own.
- lanterns
- lantern fuel
- lighter
- toilet paper
- paper plates
- silverware
- bug spray and sunscreen
- Card games
- foil
- napkins
- salt and pepper
- hammock– Just got a new one and can’t wait to use it!
- axe
You get the picture. I pack it up when I leave camp and I don’t get into again until I go back to the campsite the next time. I just make sure to make of list of anything that needs replenishing for next time and do as soon as I get back.
In my next bins, I have items that stay near or in the tent.
- tarp
- sleeping bags
- air mattress
- air mattress pump
- extra batteries (for the pump)
- towels
- clothes hamper (from the Dollar Store, it folds up nice)
- clothes pins
I think I have a total of 4 bins that are always ready to go and when I have a last minute trip I can focus on getting the food together. This camping packing hack is a lifesaver. If I had to gather this much stuff every time we wanted to go, then I definitely don’t think I would like it that much!
