Are your kids obsessed with minions like mine? They are so excited that the new Minions movie just came out on DVD. We all love the Despicable Me movies, so they couldn’t wait for this one to come out. We have all kinds of minion toys and puzzles, so I thought I would make some minion popcorn balls to go along with our Minions movie night this past weekend. They loved them and I know your kids will too.

Ingredients
- 1 bag 16 oz marshmallows
- 1 stick butter
- 2 bags microwave popcorn
- candy sticks
- yellow melting chocolate
- candy eyeballs
- white icing (from a tube)
- black gel icing
You’ll need to melt 1 stick of butter in a large pot. Once melted, add in the marshmallows and stir continuously until they are melted. While I was stirring, I popped the popcorn in the microwave. Pour in the popcorn and coat completely with the marshmallow mixture. Eat all the popcorn that falls out for a snack! 🙂

You’ll need to let it cool a bit before you start to form in the balls. If you don’t, it will be very sticky and messy and the form won’t hold. I made them between baseball and softball size. You’ll want to add the stick in while forming the balls. Let stand until completely cooled before you start the next step.

I melted yellow melting chocolate in the microwave. I just followed the directions that were on the back of the package, then coated the balls completely. I put in the refrigerator to cool when I was done.

Next, I added the candy eyes. I put a small dab of white icing to hold them on.

Next, I traced along the eyes to make goggles and mouth with the black icing gel.

Yes, it was almost 75 degrees here in NC today! My kids couldn’t wait to eat their special treat.

What a fun idea to have minion popcorn balls instead of just traditional popcorn for a special movie night. It looks like your boys were happy with that call! #client
