Homemade pizza is one of my family’s favorite meals to have.  They love making their own pizza and adding the toppings.  Have you ever made your own pizza crust?  It’s SUPER easy to make.  Have you ever grilled your pizza before?  It’s even easier!

The last thing I want to do is turn on the oven on a hot summer day. I love being able to turn on the grill and a few minutes later have dinner. I have a gas grill, but you can use a charcoal grill with this recipe too.

How to make grilled pizza dough

Step 1

Mix vegetable oil, sugar, salt, and yeast in water and stir until it’s dissolved.

Step 2

Stir in the flour and mix well with hands.  Take out and knead on a floured surface.

Step 3

Roll into a ball, place back in bowl, and cover with a cloth for about an hour.  You need to give time for the dough to grow to about double in size.

Step 4

After dough has grown, roll dough out thin.  I like to divide it up so each person in my family has their own little pizza to assemble.

Step 5

Rub olive oil on bottom side of the dough so it won’t stick. Place dough on grill for about 3-5 minutes.  Take off and flip over onto plate, grill marks up.

Step 6

Now it’s time to add your toppings- pepperoni, cheese, pizza sauce, olives, sausage, etc.

Step 7

Place back on grill for another 5 minutes to finish cooking.

NOTE:  If the pizza crust in thick, you will need to give it more time to cook.
