We make these several times a month at my house and now my 12 year old has taken over some of the duties and can make them by himself.  (He usually leaves the cleaning up to me though!)  We're working on that!

In fact, It's also great if you like to snack on the dough and I have to remind my kids that most people put eggs in the dough and you can't eat it.  I think each of my three kids eat at least 2 cookies worth of dough.

The best EGGLESS Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

For those of of you that are just finding me and my recipes for the first time, I'll tell you a little about myself.  I'm allergic to eggs and I don't like making things I can't eat.  My mom discovered I was allergic to eggs when I was around 6 months old- so 40 years ago.

When I was young I really just stuck to Dairy Queen ice cream, Oreos, and Chips Ahoy, and M&Ms for my any sweet treats.  Now I have more time and my kids are older to try out some recipes that I can eat. However, I still love Dairy Queen!!

Ingredients for No Egg Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Butter (1 stick)- I normally use salted butter because that's what I normally have in my refrigerator.
  • White sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • All-purpuse flour
  • Baking soda
  • Vanilla extract- You can make your own.  Here are the instructions to do that.  It’s REALLY easy!
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil
  • Chocolate chips

Directions for Egg Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Preheat the oven to 350F.
  • Beat the butter with white and brown sugars for 1 to 2 minutes, until creamy with an hand mixer (This is the one I got for my wedding and it’s still going strong).  I just got this mixer as a Christmas gift and LOVING it!
  • Add in flour and baking soda. Mix.
  • Add water, oil, and vanilla and mix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips with a wooden spoon.
  • Drop by spoonful  onto the baking sheet.  I usually do about 1-2 tablespoons and put 12-16 on the cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Tips

I’ve had a few people mention that their dough is dry and crumbly. First,  it should not be crumbly and should look moist and stick together well.  You may have to go back several times with the water to get it just right.

Just a quick friendly reminder: I would absolutely LOVE it if you could drop some feedback in the comment section for these mouthwatering blueberry muffins. A shiny 5-star rating would be awesome! Your ratings really make a difference for others looking for new and tasty recipes. Thanks a bunch!

Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookie Tip

I've had a few people mention that their dough is dry and crumbly. First,  it should not be crumbly and should look moist and stick together well.  You may have to go back several times with the water to get it just right.
Second, I've noticed that a lot has to do with the room temperature of the butter.  If I rush things and the butter is still a little cold, the dough needs more water.

  1. These came out very good! No one could tell they were egg free and the whole family loved the flavor. The only issue I had (I think it was something I did, not the recipe) was that they were very flat. Any advice on how to fix this?

at first, it was crumbly then I added more water and I think I added too much. the only thing I didn't like about this recipe was the fact that it wasn't very descriptive and it didn't tell you that the butter had to be a certain temperature. but other than that it was a good recipe and the cookies tasted really good.

When I made a few of these with 2T they came out very crunchy - they were still delicious, especially when I dunked them in a glass of milk, but now I make them small. I don’t even know if it’s a full tablespoon. I just use a regular spoon to scoop out a bit of dough & they come out mini. Adorable, chewy, delicious. I would seriously have NO IDEA that they didn’t have egg if I hadn’t made them myself lol.. I was just out of eggs the first time I made them, and wasn’t expecting anything great, just something to sate my sweet tooth aaaand it has now been my go to recipe the past few times I’ve baked cookies. They come together soo quickly and easily and again. They’re delicious 🙂 thanks for this recipe!

These are awesome!! I was craving cookies late at night but we didnt have any eggs at home. So we used this recipe!! I used 3 teaspoons of baking powder instead of the baking soda. They were barely chewy but so worth it. (:

Gotta say it again – this is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe of all time. I follow the directions precisely, the dough comes out perfectly, it is easy to handle and the cookies are absolutely perfection! I have a 4 yr old student at my dance studio with a serious egg allergy. I was looking for something for her, since I often make treats for the children and parents. But what I didn’t expect, EVERYONE loved them and begged me to make them again and again. Turns out, the little girl doesn’t like chocolate chips – so I always make a handful without the chocolate chips especially for her! These are excellent as well! Since I make these for a crowd, I make mini cookies – just a little bit of dough – they puff up to just the right size and I get maybe 70 cookies per batch. Seriously, I can’t wait to try the other cookie and cake recipes! 💗

  7. Very good cookies - I got 17 - 2 TBSP size cookies and I baked them about 14-15 minutes - when first out of the oven they were greasy but after cooling they were perfect. I took my 2 TBSP of dough balls and broke them apart and put them back together with the rough edges facing up. Got some really good looking cookies doing that. Thank you for this great recipe.

These are hands-down THE BEST chocolate chip cookies – and I bake all the time. The dough held together nicely and was easily formed into beautifully shaped cookies. I needed extra baking time at 350, but they came out lightly browned and were easily removed from the pan with a spatula. I tried one and it was still warm – and it was heaven! A beautiful light texture filled with delicious chocolate. Absolutely the best!

It’s my first venture into egg-free baking; I needed recipes for a four year old with a serious egg allergy who recently entered my life. I can guarantee I will try many more recipes on your website. Thank you!!!
